School Hikes...Chimney Rock & Hickman Bridge!

This year Brody went with his 3rd grade class on the Chimney Rock hike ( a 7 mile round trip hike). I hiked with him last year and Shane had to work so he called to see if Grandma would go with him.  She was such a trooper. I am very thankful that she is willing to help out as I can't be two places as once.

Perfect day for a hike.  Clear skies and sunshine.  We are very fortunate to live in this beautiful area.

Almost there and look at that view!

It's a long way up but so worth it.

Taking a little breather!

Fun school buddies.

Way to go Grandma!  Brody told me that he had so much fun with his grandma.  He talked about his hike with her for days.  It's amazing how far a little one on one attention will go.  Thanks Mom!

Another picture of friends.  My mom wanted a picture with Blake.  She is always so kind and thoughtful of her nieces and nephews and their children.  She makes a point to keep in contact with them fairly often just to check and make sure they are doing alright.

A picture taken by one of Brody's friends.

Haylie's first grade class went on the Hickman Bridge hike (a 2 mile round trip hike.)  This was our first school hike together.  I really enjoyed hiking with her and her class.  Her & her BFF Laine were inseparable.  It was so much fun to watch them.

 Thankful for good friends!

All finished with the hike.  You can tell by the smiles on their face that they had a GREAT time!

Grandma and Brody met us back at the picnic area for lunch and games.  They said they had a great time.  Thanks again mom for hiking with him and making special memories.
