Happy Halloween

Wow! I had to call Daphne for some help remembering what she told me to do when I wanted to add a page to my blog.  Thanks Daph for all your help.  You are probably thinking I have the wrong holiday.  You are absolutely correct.  However, I am trying to post a page for all of the recent holidays, birthdays, vacations, and events that have happened in the Durfey family in the last few months and I would like to have them in some sort of relevent timeline.  So.... we will start with Halloween!
Halloween was on a Sunday this year so the children went trick or treating on Saturday.  I don't like to do the trunk or treating thing so we loaded up in the car and headed to Loa.  It was a cold rainy/snowy day so the kids didn't mind riding in the car at all.  As a family we like to trick or treat our grandparents, uncles, aunts, and the older people in the community.  It really seems to bring happiness into their home.  One lady we visit every year said she wished all the children would come to her home as she loves to see all the fancy costumes.

Brody (vampire) and Haylie (devil) just before we headed out.

Grandpa and Grandma Great Potter.  The kids really enjoy seeing them.  Brody and Grandpa Great really like teasing each other and have done so since Brody was just little.  We feel very fortunate to have them in our lives!

Grandpa Great Nelson and Grandma Rhea with the kiddos.  Love the face Grandpa....you should have seen the first one he did! Such a kid at heart.

Grandpa Raymo and Grandma Diane get visited every year as well.  Brody and Haylie like to visit here because they always walk away with a lot more than they should.

Haylie with J.T.  Ummm.... I mean Joe Dirt.  These 2 little cousins are only about 3 1/2 weeks apart in age and they get along like brother and sister.  Sometimes not a such a good thing as we all know how brothers and sisters fight, right?

Checking out their haul.  They decided they did real good this year.

Haylie, J.T., Brody and Jaron at the end of the night.

After we left Tracy's house we went home to get ready for bed. (We missed seeing Grandma Durfey this year because she was up North) Haylie shut her finger in the car door and smashed it really bad.  Several days later when she finally agreed to let me take the polish off her fingernail I could see that is was purple.  A funny thing happened tonight.  As I was sitting here updating the blog Haylie came in to inform me that her dad's fingernail  he smashed had fallen off.  She also informed me that her fingernail was going to fall off.  I assured her that hers would have fallen off before now if it was going to.  The next time she came in she was in tears.  Her fingernail had fallen off (with a little help I think) and "this day was the worst day ever".  She said her fingernail looked "SO UGLY" and she hoped nobody would see it.  I kissed it better and told her that I would put polish on it so that no one could see it.  Crisis Solved!
