Brody is of the opinion that the sun sets and rises on his dad. I have to admit...I tend to agree. I am very grateful to be married to a man who is so willing to be such a huge part of his children's lives. Brody watches everything Shane does and tries to do the exact same thing. I told Shane he better watch himself because Brody doesn't miss much. I am happy that they had the opportunity to spend numerous one on one hours with each other on a couple different occasions this year. This first outing was to the Henry Mountains and the second one, Brody went to work with Shane on Monday (where he was allowed to drive the backhoe...definitely a highlight of the work day) and then stayed overnight and worked with him again on Tuesday before coming back to take care of us ladies. He had a wonderful time on both outings and has an even higher admiration for his dad since being back. I can't think of a better "Hero" Brody could have chosen!
Shane and Brody took a trip out to the Henry Mountain. This is Brody with Mt Ellen behind him. The hike seemed alot shorter to Shane than he remembered, but Brody sure thought it was a long way up there.
Shane and Brody same place John's Fort. Brody picked up a few gun casings he figured they must be Grandpas. Like father like son...they look a lot alike.
Brody taking a picture of his hero!
This is looking north from John's Fort into the north saddle. Sure was a pretty day with a beautiful view...and a handsome little man.
They ran into some bucks but weren't able to get close enough for a good picture.
These were 2 of the smaller ones 3 point on the left smaller 4 point on the right.
After work on the Boulder Mountain...Shane and Brody working the new pup on some Blue Grouse
Gunner looks pretty good for 5 month old he is figuring it out. He looks promising.
Gunner nailed down a young Blue
The grouse pictured below is right above Gunner. He has another young bird in his scent. Brody was really impressed and enjoyed watching his pup hunt.
