Christmas 2012

Merry Christmas!  We started a family tradition a couple of years ago of having the grandparents down to our house for Christmas Eve dinner.  Every year We fix prime rib with all the fixins' and have made from scratch cheesecake for desert. We enjoy uninterrupted time with the grandparents and having them all to ourselves.  After dinner is over the kids are allowed to open their Christmas Eve gift...new pajamas, and their annual book from Grandma and Grandpa Durfey.
Christmas morning is always fun.  Midge received an "easy bake oven" with a lot of cooking supplies, pedicure spa with foot lotions and implements, and a new TV.
Brody received new hiking boots, an organizer to put all of his fly tying stuff that Great Grandpa Madsen gave him in, and a new TV.

Haylie spent most of her morning giving pedicures to whom ever wanted them.

Grandma Durfey made Haylie a cute sewing bag and filled it full of everything need for a cross stitch project. Needles, loom, floss, patterns, you name it, it was in there. Haylie had done a cross stitching project at Activity days so she was super excited.
Brody received and air+water power kit.  Sure to bring lots of fun.
Pedicures lasted clear through the Holidays.  As did baking, cross stitching, and cooking.  I am grateful for children who want to learn how to do things by themselves and are very independent.
