1st Grade Field Trip.

One of the highlights of the first grade is to go to Mrs. Taft's farm and learn about the sheep business.  The students have the opportunity to feed the baby lambs, sometimes see a lamb being born or see them just minutes after, watch the sheep get sheered, and learn about farm safety.  The kids seem to really enjoy it.  Me...I think it stinks.

A set of twins born just a couple of hours prior to our arrival.

Sheering...This is how you do it!

Penned up for safety.  The ewes kept jumping out of their pens and running down the alley so these kids decided the safest place for them was in the pen.

Looking at all the sheered sheep.

Inside the shed learning about farm safety.  They had a lot of fun and I think they learned something as well.
