Field of Dreams

What a fun way to end baseball season.  Field of Dreams with the Salt Lake Bees.  Every year the Salt Lake Bees choose teams to be honored with their Field of Dreams event.  At the event every player from our team had the opportunity to go out on the Bees field in the position they played, give their name, and participate in the opening ceremony with the Bees players.  After opening ceremonies the boys were able to go down into the locker room.  All of our boys really enjoyed this and it was a neat experience for players and families alike.

Before the game the boys were recognized and this local band got them involved by singing songs.  Some of the boys were so embarrassed by this.  It was cute to see turn into shy little people overtaken by the giggles.

Waiting for the game to start.  This was Brody's first time to a Bees game.  He was in awe of the field. He couldn't believe how big and nice it was.

The coaches surprised the boys with a trophy that was a mitt, and a baseball.  So proud of this cute little team and glad to be a small part of such a wonderful program.

Midge was perfectly content as soon as she got her cotton candy.  I usually don't allow the kiddos to get the sticky stuff but to Haylie's delight I figured since this was a special, fun day...why not.

Getting pre-game instruction

There he is on 3rd base.  3rd is the position he played the most of at the end of the season.  Since they were deep in pitchers and two of the kids already were going to the mound as their position he decided he would take third base.

I noticed during the singing of  the National Anthem  that #6 did not have his hand on his heart.  I don't know why, but I was a little put off by this.  I felt like it was so disrespectful yet we are seeing this more and more in society today.

The team really enjoyed going to the locker room.  What a great experience this was for them.  They all received an Angels bag with swag inside and were completely tickled with it.

Haylie took the opportunity to get her bag signed by the Bees mascot.

This was the perfect end to the season.  What an admirable group of boys.  I really enjoyed watching the games and getting to know the boys better.
