We took off one weekend for our last trip to Lake Powell for 2012. The kids have really enjoyed going this year. We arrived later in the evening with just enough time to get our "Hobo Dinners" cooked. Our kids didn't remember ever eating this and were really amazed that you could cook food in tinfoil. It is now one of their favorite meals.
Bright and early the next morning the kids were in the Lake
Haylie decided to try the skis.
Just a little nervous
Brody taking a morning plunge.
My "HOT" hubby!
Haylie loves to collect rocks. She was showing me her great find.
Haylie is so funny. She tends to wander off and make her own adventure. While I was straightening up camp she went for a little walk about. When I looked up I was quite entertained by her dancing on a rock. What a funny little human!
We told them that if they wanted to ski we better get started because it may take them a little while to learn. Brody went and got on the waverunner with Shane because Midgie wanted to go first.
Captain and Flagman
Haylie decided that skiing was too hard for her right now so she elected to kneeboard instead.
She did really well. Crossed the wake several times
Changing of the guard. It was not Haylie's turn to flag and watch while Brody tried wakeboarding.
Sometimes the board isn't so easy to get on in the water.
And...he's up!
Well...almost!
They kept getting farther and farther away from shore so I couldn't really see them anymore. After what seemed like hours here they came back. Brody was up and so so proud.
Coming in to shore. He never gave up and really enjoyed it once he was up. Way to go B!
I think this was the only fish caught during this trip.
Time for more kneeboarding.
Two little buddies setting off to find treasures along the shoreline.
Meet Pinchy..their new best friend. They didn't want to hold him but had to take him home.
Shane agreed to let them take him home in cup filled with water. The kids left Pinchy sitting in the boat when they went to sleep later that night when we got home. Imagine their surprise when they woke up the next morning to find the cup tipped over and Pinchy missing. Yup...the kittens had eaten a great breakfast that morning.
